I am one of those strange people that actually enjoys laundry, especially folding all of the clean, fluffy and warm clothing (and towels)! But the illustrious missing sock over the years has always been the bane of my existence, so I have created a tongue-in-cheek home for all of those lost socks with this project today. STEP ONE: In a well-ventilated area (or outside), spray paint the edges of 4" x16" wood plaque and 5-6 clothespins with a glossy wood tone. Let dry completely.
STEP TWO:
Paint the plaque green and let dry. Apply a second coat, if necessary.
STEP THREE: Spell out the sentiment with Joy embroidered letters: SINGLE SEEKING MATE. There were only three E's in my package, so for the last E, I used the number 3 and turned it upside down! I made 2 light pencil marks 1" down from the top edge of the plaque, and placed a ruler across to line up all of the letters evenly.
STEP FOUR: Following package directions, iron the individual letters to the top of the plaque. I use a small craft iron, which is portable and provides more control. Glue the clothes pins in position as shown and let dry.
STEP FIVE: Attach a 20" length of ribbon to either end of plaque as a hanger. Tie additional ribbon in two bows and glue to the front of the plaque.
I hope you have enjoyed my project today and will use it to create a home for all those lost socks in your house!
