Turkey and Pie Sign

Make a fun sign for Thanksgiving with paint sticks and Joy embroidered letters!

You will need:

Joy® embroidered letter sheets - red, orange & yellow

3 Wood paint sticks

Acrylic craft paint - yellow gold, red & orange

Burlap ribbon - 1/2" x 3 yards

Brown waxed thread or embroidery floss

Glue or craft iron and cloth

Tools:  paintbrush, tapestry needle, scissors

Instructions:

1. Paint the sticks; one of each color.  Center the letters on each stick as shown, then adhere with glue.

2. Cut the burlap ribbon in half.  Fold each piece in half and slide the bottom stick into the fold.  Use the needle and thread to take a stitch in the ribbon above the stick.  Tie and knot.  Place the second stick about 1" above the last and stitch above and below to hold it in place.  Repeat for the third stick.  Tie the ends of the burlap ribbon in a knot and trim.

Look for Joy® embroidered letters and letter sheets at your local craft store. They are available in a variety of fonts, sizes and colors. White letters can also be colored with dye, paint, or markers.
