Time to get in the mood for Fall and the change of the seasons... Soup on the stove, a fire in the fireplace and an idea for a craft project are a great way to start off November!
If you love a quick and easy project, then read on to see how to make this adaptable pillow!
You will need:
Joy® embroidered letter sheet
Dishtowel - cotton plaid
buttons: 5 to match fabric
12" x 16" Pillow form
Upholstery thread
Needle
Scissors
Iron
Pressing cloth
Chalk fabric marker
Instructions:
1. Unfold the dishtowel then press on the wrong side to remove wrinkles.
2. With the wrong side facing up, place the pillow at the center of the towel. Fold the bottom edge up then fold the top edge down, matching the plaid. Arrange the buttons and mark each placement. Mark the distance on each side where the seam will be stitched. Remove the pillow and stitch on the buttons. Hand stitch the seam on one side of the pillow.
3. Place the pillow inside the open end, adjust and stitch the opening closed to match the opposite side.
4. Following manufacturer directions on the back of the package, iron the letters on the front of the pillow. F A L L was used here, but with a full set of letters on the sheet, you can also use G A T H E R, A U T U M N, W E L C O M E F A L L, and more!
You can find Joy® embroidered letters at your local craft store. They come in many sizes, shapes and colors and they should have something to fit any need!
